Steps
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a small baking dish (about 15x15 cm / 6x6 inches) with parchment paper.
Peel the persimmons and carefully remove any seeds and the core. Place the soft flesh into a blender or food processor and puree until completely smooth.
In a mixing bowl, combine the blended persimmon puree, oat flour, rolled oats, and cinnamon. Stir well until it forms a thick, even batter.
Pour the batter into the lined baking dish and spread it out evenly with a spatula. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is set and feels firm to the touch.
Allow to cool completely before cutting. Slice into finger-length strips for babies to easily grasp, or bite-sized squares for toddlers.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use firm persimmons?
Yes, but you must steam them for 8 minutes until very soft before blending. Using fully soft, ripe persimmons (like Hachiya) yields a sweeter puree and avoids any dry, astringent taste.
Can I freeze these bars?
Absolutely! Store them in an airtight container in the freezer for up to a month. Thaw them at room temperature before serving to your baby.
